Im quite attracted to any chunky knitted pieces at the moment, especially oversized cardigans and shawls for the winter months. The strongest looks for me are the patterned fairilse or aztec designs which are quite 70's in style, so im going to hunt a vintage/second hand one down soon..one i already have a cardigan in greys and blues i love from a market in Amsterdam, but i want a brighter one i think.

Im also thinking about taking up knitting for a winter hobby, love the idea of sitting in a pub with a gin and tonic, lots of mates and a knitting set...is that sad? anyways, i dont care, because Wool and the gang have some really nice patterns for first time knitters, and not a bad price..have a look, i really like the idea that it could come out a bit wonky and personal.....!

Here is Chanels couture clothing for AW10 in paris. There is lots of camel coming through for winter, which i am disappointed about, as i think is washes your skintone out... but i love the old style tweeds, and large masculine oversized coats, with fur and velvet trims. Proportions is a key element, of which i prefer long coats, which i think look more chic compared to cropped layers.

The dresses were quite mysterious, and gothic, with metallic and shiny elements which is pleasing to my magpie eyes. I think the ankle boots teamed with dresses is also a key look that makes the dresses look less girly cute, which is a bonus. The show was set underneath a huge golden lion statue clawing a giant pearl-LOVE!

How amazing are these two dressed in their zebra onsey's at glastonbury at the weekend? I had such an amazing time, and loved seeing everyone's outfits and costumes, its endless fun just people watching. Im a massive fan on onseys and i think these jumpsuits could be worn on there own too.......there is something i really like about wearing animal print, but i think its all or nothing with this look. Here are some more images from the shot in the east end i posted earlier this week, I love these stripey vintage trousers i borrowed from a friend, and the vintage jumper with little animals across the top-so cute, i kept after the shoot to wear with little denim shorts.

My other favourite thing is the fisherman jacket, which i gave my boyfriend , its literal mazers, and perfect for the approaching festival season-whoop!!

I had the pleasure of helping my friend , louise May style these images she took round where i live, she is exploring all types of photography, not just fashion, but wanted to do a shoot which involves architecture aswell as a styled fashion focus too. East London has so many lovely places and building's to photograph, and most people are too busy/pissed/in their own world to notice them, it poured with rain in true British fashion from the first shot, but we still had a laugh taking them, and i think the shoots look great-take a gander!

pretty much all of the clothese are vintage, many from beyond retro in cheshire street, shoreditch. The bowler hat, and leopard print boots- which are so mazers, are topshop numbers.

This bank holiday weekend was mazers. i did a photoshoot with a friend lou may, who is a very talented photographer around where i live in east london, it rained, but we still got some great shots. I will upload the offcial photos to come, as this is just a crappy one i did on my iphone.

also i did alot of vintage shopping @beyond retro which is probably the best value vintage store round here, i bought a black vintage quilted jacket, and reserved a 1960's yellow fitted dress...images to follow too!

the above necklace is one i bought of a friend who has recently been to brazil, its made of lots of beautiful buttons, and i love it!

It was so hard to narrow down which pictures to show of the band of outsiders range for Autumn/Winter 2010. Because its all do freakin mazers! why? because in my opinion they are doing something different from everyone, and still creating a range that is wearable and exciting.Love the little fluffy gloves, raised bowling shoes, flying jacket, little prints (made from distorted polaroids of silk ties ) and quirky styling -the platform shoes are made from watch straps.

Here is Phoebe Philos second collection for the French fashion house Celine.

I love the French understated Glamour, and leather skirts, blouses detailing and trims, paired with beautifully cut over coats, and blouses and high waisted trousers.

This whole show oozes style, sophistication without being dated or boring, using subtle silhouette details, and luxurious fabrics, creating a sexy feel to a somewhat serious colour pallette. I cant see many women not wanting to wear the majority of this beautiful range, my favourite pieces include the chic hooded navy parka, leather pencil skirt and black dress with the full shaping and leather patch pockets

Did I mention I love Balmain? heres the new Autumn/Winter 2010 Images from the talented head designer Christophe Decarnin. Everyone is raving about bright furry coats at the moment, as seen on many street shots and in various shows.

I like the element of deep purple and Gold in this show, which gives a beautiful Baroque luxurious feel. The French fashion House have really gone for it with lame dresses and fringing, power shoulders and statement fur, teamed with ribbon laced boots, and much classier feel this season, even though some of the dresses are quite revealing. I much prefer the dresses and Naval outerwear in this show, im no so keen on the 70's inspired suits however....

I wanted to post some images from the latest offering from Christopher Kane and Versace. The Junior Line 'Versus'.

This is season two for the range, and its looking really strong. A strong influence of party wear with cute pleat detailing, teamed with lace up boots and sandals, and leather for a harder edge, and evening long gloves and clutches. I think the harder pieces save this range from looking too girlie for my tastes, and i love the footwear choices, teamed with jewel coloured dresses in sea blue, emerald green and black.

They have also used Bruce Webers archive photos for bags and prints, he is a well know photographer who has done campaigns such as Calvin Klein, Ralph lauren, Vogue, GQ and rolling stone magazine , to name but a few.

Here are some of my favourite latest catwalk outerwear items for Autumn /winter 2010. Actually this post is quite apt considering how cold it still is here in London even in March.

I love the military inspired heavy wool coats for Burberry Prorsum, sheepkin collars at House of holland and Phillip Lim and the smart capes in 3.1 Phillip Lims collection. Double denim is everywhere, which i dont think i favour, its a bit too Americana 70's for me, and not in a good way...however i am definatley going to get a denim gilet for the summer as seen in Twenty8Twelve above, it will go with literally everything.Its definatley time to save for statement outerwear......

Alex Chung has teamed up with Madewell to create her first collection collaboration which launches in stores in August this year. The launch on Monday at The Bowery Hotel Terrace in New York was filled with her friends, and looks like a big success judging by feedback. Longlength cardigans, peter pan collars, onseys, clogs, desert boots, brogues and cute shorts, all of which look very Alexa inspired, and are very afforable too.

Exciting news! Acne is coming to Dover Street in Mayfair, so London will soon see its very own store (its currently only in concessions such as Liberty, Browns etc.). Formed in 1996 in Stockholm by four creatives, they quickly developed strong attention for their unique denim range, which also featured a unisex jean, but they also include design, film, advertising and production amongst their assignments.

I attended the launch of new menswear label Percival last Thursday. 16 garments, all of which received much positive praise at the event. And what's more, it is all produced in the Uk, which makes it even more appealing. The beautiful coloured waxed macs, with carefully chosen lining and trims were my favourite , along with the chunky red knitwear and cardigan with key branding, which is emulated throughout there designs and labelling. An impressive first launch considering the creative team behind this are not trained fashion designers, and it was all created from scratch in 6 months. A focus on fabric, quality and fit are clear from viewing these items, and im sure this will be a very sought after collection. Heres a few examples to show you.

John Lewis has launched a new designer collaboration teaming up with Joe Casely-Hayford. Joe Casely-Hayford has been a designer since the mid 1980's , producing both men and women's shows in Paris, London and Tokyo.

Aswell as being a creative Director in Italy, and selling his ranges in prestigious stores world wide, since 2005 he has also been the creative director of Gieves and Hawkes (the 200 year old Saville Row house). He also launched a new brand called Casely-Hayford , a collaboration with his son Charlie Caesly-Hayford in Spring/Summer 2009. The brand philosophy reflects the Casely-Hayford spirit which spans from 'English Heritage to British Anarchy', with an emphasis on 'Slow Fashion' and 'Innovation Through Tradition'.

The exclusive John Lewis range consisting of thirty pieces, and demonstrates unique British style to its best. Launching in March, this is set to become a huge success, with alot of press coverage on this already. Lee McQueen died aged 40 years old on Thursday 11th feb morning just a week after his mother passed away. I remember looking at pictures from his fashion shows when i was at school doing an art project, and being amazed at his spectacular performances, his shows were like a dramatic theatre experience. I also liked that he didn't take the 'fashion bubble' too seriously , but always maintained who he was, and had strong opinions, and a sense of self, his interviews were always really interesting. Heres a peak at Chanels Spring Summer 2010 couture show. Silver highlights are key feature. I love the space feel of the silver shoes and details, and crazy big hair, and im glad that is a change from the usual signature look we often see in Karl Lagerfeld's shows. The styling and pieces are in keeping with the nature of Chanel couture customers, pure fantasy one-offs.

Looking at the menswear shows from Milan, i have decided that i just love Burberry Prorsum menswear. It has been critisized by some for being a but bland in terms of colour pallette-mainly khaki and beiges and navy's. But thats partly why i like it. The detailing and cut are the show stealers, and i found it one of the most inspiring, alongside Etro and Alexandra Mcqueen.

Admire the fur lined massive black boots, and the military overcoats, they remind me of a classic world war film with old school English style.

Androgyny is a term derived from the Greek words ανήρ (anér, meaning man) and γυνή (gyné, meaning woman) and refers to the mixing of masculine and feminine characteristics, as in fashion or hermaphroditism.
Androgyny has always been present in fashion and music alike, well especially for mine and my mums generation. From the early attributes in the 1950's acts Elvis and Little Richard. It provokes a spectrum of reactions, most of which I think are positive, and can create a sense of anarchy and inspiration among people.

The emergence of the glam rock scene in new York, with the New York dolls, T-Rex and Roxy music started a whole new look in the music industry which filtered quickly into British acts like The Rolling stones. Influx of androgyny into popular music in the 80's was also displayed in acts the such as Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, Michael Jackson and Boy George, and more recently, Crystal Castles, Placebo, Marilyn Manson and Phillipa Brown from Ladyhawke etc etc etc all display various degrees of androgynous looks, most of which aren't that revolutionary or shocking today.

I was recently at a party where pretty much all of the men were more than happy to let me apply black eyeliner on them, and this definitely wasn’t there first time, not sure if they would have worn a feminine blouse or a skirt that may have been a step too far for most of them. But there here is something really alluring and appealing about a man in makeup, David Bowie is a brilliant example of how his alter ego Ziggy Stardust appealed to both men and women in his overtly androgynous persona on stage.

More and more men wear makeup, and skinny girl jeans from topshop and more women by men’s clothing and accessories, be it brogues, oversized jackets, or chunky boots. Makeup brands are even capitalising on this huge market with male targeted campaigns such as Yves saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier, Mac and Clinique, (and yes this is for straight men too). I was in New York in October and a woman who owned a vintage clothing shop was discussing how she just saw the most beautiful person ever, and that they was so strikingly beautiful in an androgynous way, she didn’t know whether this person was male or female. 'Oh I just LOVE that androgyny is back!' she exclaimed, touché!.

Limi Feu's 2010 ready to wear collection is a perfect example of modern androgyny. She also featured male models wearing her women’s wear on the catwalk.

Looking at the golden Globe award outfits, i have to say Chole Sevigny's dress is my absolute favourite, its by Valentino. She has a great sense of day style, too and never looks like she try's to hard, and wears what suits her personal style.

January is typically miserable, no money, no excitement, and constant cold hands and feet brrrrrrr!!, so here are so beautiful inspiring images of some Spring Summer 2010 collections that i love. The neutral skin tone shades and draping sheer fabrics look really feminine and clean in Lavin's collection compared to Autumn/Winters heavily textured blacks and greys. But using black in a sheer fabric can also look so elegant for summer evenings. I love the use of pale grey marl jersey in Alexandra wangs collection aswell, being a slight tomboy at heart, and knee high socks are officially mazers.
